General comments by vendor
As part of the syndicate rules the shareholder must have an ICC (International Certificate for Operators of Pleasure Craft) or equivalent. For UK residents, this can be obtained from the RYA. (See link below)
Silver Steel is a very comfortable river cruiser, and has been regularly well maintained by the syndicate, with several upgrades over the years to keep her up to date.
The blown air heating system keeps her warm during cold periods, and there are mains heaters on board which can be used when connected to a shore supply.
Maintenance is undertaken by the boatyard, as directed by the syndicate chairman and winter maintenance officer. Any proposed major outlay is discussed and voted on at the annual AGM - Which owners can attend in person or virtually.
The Perkins 6 cylinder diesel engine offers plenty of power but is very economical on inland waterways.
The bow-thruster makes for easy handling in close confines.
One of the nicest features of Silver Steel is the large, raised aft deck. This can accommodate 6 people ,ideal for alfresco dinning!
Shade is provided by a large , folding bimini. and a new enclosed canopy is booked to be fitted at H20 at St-Jean-de -Losne next winter
We have been owners for three years and have enjoyed extensive cruising of the beautiful river Saone. The boat is very comfortable and reliable and easy to handle.
Silver Steel was based at St Jean de Losne for several years, but has been at Auxerre since 2012, then Niderviller and now Savoyeux.
The syndicates ethos has always been to move the location of the boat every few years so that all of the extensive canal & river network in France can be explored.
The boat has been exceptionally well cared for and remains in excellent order.
