General Comments About the Boat
Launched in June 2005 Tranquility is a 58’ narrowboat, run independently by her joint owners.
Design layout is semi-traditional steel hulled and she was built by Colecraft and fitted out by Elton Moss Boatbuilders.
She is powered by a Beta Marine Greenline 43 HP four cylinder diesel engine, and has a contemporary style interior with a mid-galley layout. Electrical equipment includes a 240 volt travel pack alternator and 1500 watt invertor. The central heating diesel boiler is housed within the engine compartment.
Following on immediately from the bow tipcat is the gas compartment accommodating two 13Kg bottles. There is a locker/seat on both port and starboard sides of the front deck. An electric bow thruster together with a stainless steel fresh water tank is located under the front well floor.
The saloon is accessed through the steel glazed double front doors. On the portside is a Bubble multi-fuel stove, with the TV/DVD/Radio on the starboard. Moving further aft there is a built in settee converting to double/twin bed and then an 'L' shaped dinette which can also convert to a double bed.
Next is the Galley consisting of a four burner gas hob and a fridge/freezer under. Moving round there is worktop space with a circular stainless sink and separate drainer with a cutlery drawer and ample cupboard space underneath. There is a microwave oven, an eye level gas grill and full size oven. A washing machine/ tumble dryer completes the galley facilities. On the starboard side there is a fold-down table immediately beneath the trading hatch.
The bathroom, refurbished in 2015, includes a full size shower with mixer tap, a good sized wash basin, shaver electric socket and a macerator toilet with a large storage tank.
The stern compartment Bedroom has a permanent, full-width double bed, wardrobe space, cupboard and shelving.
On to the aft end, adjacent to the steps leading to the access/exit hatch, there is a control panel, isolators and switchgear. There are steel double doors leading to stern deck and steering position. Outside the area is flanked by lockers both sides with engine and controls on the port side. Two further steel doors featuring hand painted roses and castles, close off this section at night. The counter has the fuel filler, fuel tank vent, two bollards, rudder bearing and tiller swan neck and finally, the button.
