Booking system
From August, a booking chart for the following calendar year
is circulated in an agreed priority order.

The priority order has been agreed for the next 10 years based
on each full share moving up three places each year.

Bookings are not accepted for January to allow for winter maintenance etc.

For the 10th shares

Each full share chooses four weeks per year. Before the start
of the year the booking chart is circulated to each owner in a
predetermined order to select  two weeks in high season and
1 week low season.

The chart is then circulated again in reverse order to choose the 4th week.

For the 20th shares

Before the start of the year the booking chart is circulated to
each owner in a predetermined order.

The chart is then circulated again in reverse order (second rotation).

Still Dreaming has an unusual 1/20th share booking arrangement as follows:

Year 1 - On first rotation you select two high season weeks,
either consecutive weeks or separate weeks. No selection on second rotation.

Year 2 - On first rotation you select one low season week.
On second rotation you select a second week, either high
season or low season depending on availability. Second rotation
is in reverse order (i.e. an owner at the bottom of the booking
chart on first rotation will be at the top on second rotation) .
Priority for school holidaysA maximum of two owners may elect to have the "school holiday" option
and choose their dates before the chart is circulated to the rest of the owners.

They pay an extra sum each year in to the boat bank account for this priority.

General Comments About the Boat

Still Dreaming is a 58' semi-trad narrow boat with a 'walk through' well deck, cratch and cover, and side hatch.

Starting at the semi-trad stern, there is fixed bench housing 2 gas bottles.

Continue down steps into the cabin, there is a fixed double bed which can be extended to king size. The bed has two large storage drawers under it and a large shelf and locker cupboards over it.

The cabin also offers a wardrobe and small en-suite WC/Shower cubicle with small hand basin. It also offers hanging space for wet coats etc. A door can close this cabin off from the remainder of the boat. In the day-time this door closes off a cupboard from the corridor.

Diesel powered central heating can be used to heat the whole boat (there are radiators throughout the boat, in the cabin, dinette and lounge).

The bathroom contains a raised pump-out toilet, vanity unit, cupboard, corner bath and shower.

Forward from the bathroom is a fully equipped galley-kitchen with a large opening side hatch, four-burner gas hob, grill and oven (new in 2020), undercounter fridge (new in 2021), microwave and plenty of storage space.

Separating the galley kitchen from the dinette is a suspended glazed door cupboard for glasses & crockery.

The lounge area has an L-shaped dinette which converts into a double bed, with a drawer and storage cupboard under. The dinette area can be separated from the lounge by a full width/height curtain.

The lounge has a wardrobe and two drawer unit opposite a solid fuel stove, and two chairs which each convert into a single bed. These can be pushed together to create another king size bed.

There is a flat-screen TV with DVD player and a radio/CD unit. All lights have been replaced with LED lighting.

There are full height glazed bi-folding doors which open onto the bow deck.

The large water tank is situated at the front of the boat, and there are storage lockers/seats in the well deck, with a small detachable table for enjoying a meal or drinks outside in the summer.

The lockers contain the hose reel, windlasses, mooring pins, shuttering hooks, river anchor and chain. The cratch cover provides an all weather seating area.

The boat is fitted with fire and carbon monoxide detectors, 12V charging sockets (for mobile phones etc) and mains sockets (supplied by an inverter or shore power).

This boat has higher than normal internal headroom making it ideal for a taller person.

General comments by vendor

We have been owners since 2009 and have enjoyed many holidays on Still Dreaming.

Since Covid-19, all duvets, pillows and mattress protectors have been removed and owners are bringing their own.

The friendly group of owners (8 full shares and four half shares) took over the running of the boat after the collapse of 'OwnerShips' in 2010. Being self managed has considerably reduced the running costs which cover mooring, insurance, licence, RCR river rescue service and predictable repair costs.

When using the boat, owners pay for diesel, pump-outs and usually a valet on the day they return (approximately £40).

Gas bottles are charged to the boat:-

2012 New Beta 43 engine and prop fitted
2013 Back to metal repaint
2016 New mattress for fixed double in rear cabin
2016 Interior seating re-upholstered, new curtains and sofa chairs
2016 New cratch cover
2020 Gas boiler replaced with diesel webasto heater
2020 New cooker
2021 New rechargable vacuum cleaner
2021 New Fridge
2021 Roof repainted
