Booking system | For booking purposes, the ten shares are arranged as five pairs with an associated priority that changes each year. A booking chart for the following calendar year is circulated in the priority order in late summer before the owners’ annual meeting. Each owner in turn can choose up to two weeks (separately or as a fortnight) in the ‘high season’ (April to September inclusive), and one week in the remainder of the year. After setting aside agreed weeks for winter maintenance (usually December/ January), the remaining (fourth) weeks are booked at the AGM in October with priority reversed from that used for the previously-booked weeks. Each pair of shares moves up one place (each owner effectively moving up two places) in each subsequent year and, after a year at the top of the priority list, that pair drops to the bottom; the order within the pair is reversed each year and the five year cycle begins again. |

General Comments About the Boat
Sceptre is a semi trad stern with seating and gas locker and cruising hardware. Leading down the rear steps into the fixed double bedroom (extendable to kingsize) with ensuite cloakroom.
The Aldi gas boiler is housed in a cupboard off the corridor and adjacent to the recently refitted bathroom which consists of a large shower with glass door pump out toilet (new s/s holding tank), wash basin and mirror and chrome heated towel rail.
Following on from this we have the 'U' shaped galley with s/s gas hob and twin cavity oven, 12v fridge, microwave sink unit and storage cupboards both above and below the worktops.
Next is the 'L' shaped dinette with under seat storage which converts into a small double bed.
The saloon area is next complete with tv/ dvd player and also a dab/ fm radio and a custom built sofa bed separated from the dinette by a tall cupboard and multi fuel fire.
Next we lead up onto the well deck where there is some seating above a storage locker and finally onto the bow which houses the water tank.

General comments by vendor
The shared boat system has worked well for us. The owners management arrangements with an AGM have been successful, share ownership has been cost effective and enabled us to explore much of the canal network. We will be sorry to sell our share.

Sceptre is owned by a private syndicate of 10 people with the roles of chairman, treasurer, engineer and booking officer being self-managed. The boat has a large £15,000 sinking fund in case of problems and for repainting
Over the last few years we have made considerable improvements with a new Alde boiler supplying 5 radiators and hot water 2013, new engine in 2014, complete bare metal repaint and professional sign-writing in 2016.
During 2017 we have replaced the microwave, gas hob and oven, the 2 armchairs are about to be replaced with a convertible sofa.
Winter works for the end of the 2017 season will be a bathroom replacement including holding tank, re-blacking the bottom (carried out every 2 years) and a repaint in the engine room.
We hold our annual AGM yearly in October where we discuss any problems, future upgrades and where to moor. More pictures and a copy of the hull inspection 2016 and current BSS are available on request. Please feel free to contact me at any time by email or phone.
