General Comments About the Boat - Some items are date specific
Entering through the bow double doors and down three steps you enter the 'living room' with two large windows allowing light in. Immediately to your left there is a Morso Squirrel multifuel stove with a back boiler (overhauled professionally in 2020) with twin lined flue (replaced in 2020) which feeds two convection-fed radiators toward the stern of the boat. There is also a stove fan on top of the stove to circulate air around the boat to keep all areas warm through the cooler months.
To the right there is a coal cupboard that can store 6 x 20kg bags of smokeless solid fuel, firelighters and kindling. Above the cupboard is a bookshelf and just behind the bookshelf is a handy set of coat hooks right by the door. A double sofa folds out into a double bed at night.
Moving past the sofa there is the dining area with a fold out free-standing table and four stacked chairs on one side with a bench on the other side so that with the table fully extended it can seat six people. The table has half a dozen draws within it.
Moving through into the galley space there are kitchen work counters on both sides with a pull-out drawer storage unit and work counter. Cupboards, with blue and white mess tin sets of side plates, bowls and pie dishes (for mains) for six people. drawers including a cutlery set, a stainless-steel sink and draining board with a cupboard underneath and a 12v fridge with freezer compartment. There is a gas oven with grill and a four-ring gas hob, with pots, pans, and other cooking utensils hanging above it.
Moving down the corridor to the right is a spacious shower-room, with a pressurised shower allowing 6’ 6” of standing room, a Thetford cassette toilet, IKEA square sink and mirrored vanity unit, plus under sink cupboard storage. The engine heated hot water tank is sufficient for two showers.
Moving through the door into the bedroom, there is a double bed which extends to a width of 167 cm with overhead and underbed storage (two deep drawers). There are reading lights above the bed. A double full-length wardrobe is at the end of the room, next to the door through to the engine room.
The engine room is enclosed as it is a traditional stern narrowboat. Four domestic batteries, one starter battery, powered by new solar panels (2024) and two alternators connected to an alternator to battery inverter charger; and a separate 2kw inverter for running the 240v plugs in the living and kitchen areas of the cabin. The stern tube is an automatic water sealed system so no having to grease up after each cruise.
Over the past 3 years (2021-2024) the boat has had a steadily increasing number of shareholders (now at maximum) which means that the maintenance capital fund has increased to £8,000.

General comments by vendor
We’ve been proud members of the original syndicate since 2021, and it’s genuinely been one of the best decisions we’ve made.
The boat has given us incredible experiences on the water, but just as importantly, it’s brought us into a fantastic community.
The syndicate isn’t just about shared ownership, it’s a welcoming, supportive group of people who’ve become real friends. We often say it feels like our “JF family”.
For the last two years, Jamaica Farewell has had maximum shareholders, increasing the maintenance capital fund to £13,000+. The boat is also equipped with WIFI and tracking.
Note re running costs: -
£89 per month for maintenance, bills and improvements
£18 per month management paid to a member of the group
The boat is fully insured with Circle Marine
We have Retainer Cover with River Canal Rescue
