Booking system | A booking chart for the following calendar year is circulated in agreed priority order each year. Each owner has a priority for that year and moves up a couple of places each year. Each owner can choose two weeks (separately or as a fortnight) in the "high season" (April to September) and one in the remainder of the year. Allowing for time for winter maintenance, the remaining weeks are booked with priority in reverse order, so having last choice originally does have its compensations. These extra bookings are confirmed on the first day of the month before the month of the booking. |
Priority for school holidays | A maximum of TWO shares may have school holiday priority |

General comments by vendor
Unusually this is an exclusive special school holiday share, being the only one in this syndicate whereas most other syndicates have between two and four special shares which have to rotate in priority every year. Although the agreement allows for two school holiday shares it is not envisaged to change this boat up to two in the short term. Being the only one means we get first pick of the holidays each year (but do have to select what are generally considered "School holiday" weeks).
Avington was shot-blasted and professionally fully repainted at a cost of £11,475 in the winter of 2016/17 at Aqueduct Marina so is often mistaken for a brand new boat.
She also benefitted from a new Beta Marine 43hp Greenline engine and gearbox in 2014, suitable for both canals and rivers.
She tends to move marinas every few years (decided at the friendly annual AGM and lunch in October), currently having her own mooring in the delightful Meadows Marina at Calcutt where she moved to in March 2018.
The syndicate is made up of like-minded friendly boaters led by a capable chairman with the added benefit of expert backup from our chosen management company.
