Booking system
A booking chart for the following calendar year is circulated
in agreed priority order typically starting in April.

Shareholders will be coupled together swapping alternate years,
and then the couples rotate around the list, once at the top of the
list you then go to the bottom and work your way back up to the
top, this therefore creates a 6-year cycle.

The first two shares sold in the syndicate will be coupled together
and start at the top of the list.

The existing shareholders will remain at the bottom of the list
until all shares are sold.

Each owner can choose a fortnightly in high season
(April to September inclusive)

Once this process is complete for all shares, owners then may choose a
fortnight week if they wish but this is done in reverse order so that those
who got last choice their first three weeks get first choice for their fourth.

Any remaining weeks plus any that arise during the year if original
share owners cannot use them are available for a syndicate member
to bid for priority is again given in order from the bottom like the
second fortnight week except that once a period has been claimed in this round
the winner drops their priority for any more.

General comments by vendor

We are looking for conscientious people, would really suit couples, small families etc, that love boats and boating, to share the running costs of this wonderful boat, as well as the ownership. This is the first time that Escapade, will have more than one or two owners.

We have been in syndicates in the UK before, so have a little knowledge on the workings of them, we will be looking for help in the running of the syndicate, Admin, Secretarial help etc. Please tell us your experience, and if any of the above would suit you? First-person to sign up will get the pick of the summer weeks, for the season starting 2020.

This wonderful French riverboat has been in private hands for over 20 years, and the upkeep has been meticulous attended to, year in, and year out, had her/him bottom painted last year, regular maintenance ongoing when needed.  We can help you to cruise on the waterways in France, Europe, for a fraction of the cost if you were to buy by yourself.

The running costs for Escapade, are approximately £3,600 per annum, that includes maintenance, insurance, boat being taken out of the water, wintered, dry stored etc. We visualise that this would also represent a contingency built in. This works out £300 per share, £6 pounds per week. Most of the maintenance work can be carried out by ourselves, especially considering the price of maintenance charges, in France.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a two week holiday, every year cruising around Europe, trouble free. Season starts April to September, plus two weeks in the winter if one wants!

At the moment Escapades home is in Baye, a commune in the Marne department in northeastern France.  Just by one of the prettiest if not the best canals in France, (Canal Nivernais)

This can be changed each year giving more scope and different canals to travel on, this will be decided at the AGM, which we visualized being on the Isle of Wight, where two couples that own the boat, now reside.

WINTER WEEKS: The canals and waterways in France generally close for the winter. It follows that it is possible that a "Winter Fortnight" might only be available to you when the boat will have to remain static and be used as a pied-à-terre. This will only become an issue once a number of shares have been sold and will be broached once it becomes relevant, where one option worth exploring is moving the boat to a different location for the winter.
