| Booking system | In past years, a booking chart for the following year was circulated in September in an established priority order. Each owner had a position for that year and moved up two places each year. After a year at the top of the list, the owner then moved to the bottom, so over a period of 8 years an owner’s position ran 8, 6, 4, 2, 7, 5, 3, 1. Each owner could choose two weeks (separately or as a fortnight) in the “high season” (April to October inclusive) and one week in the remainder of the year. In a second round, each share could choose a 4th week. A third round allowed owners to select two further weeks. (See below) [Three weeks are taken for maintenance, two in winter and one in summer]. There is a new booking regime in place.....initially for 2026 the first year. Extra weeks ( entitlement is for 1/8 of the free annual weeks i.e. 6 weeks. The entitled weeks plus extra weeks must be booked 8 weeks prior to the required extra weeks. This is a "test run for 2026" and we will make the final decision regarding the selection options at the AGM in November. |

General Comments About the Boat
Upon entering the boat from the semi trad stern with rear lockers containing the gas bottles mooring equipment etc. you go down steps between two large cupboards, with a wall mounted TV with integral dvd player, and 12v and 5v usb charge sockets, leading into the rear cabin with seating and Desmo sockets for either single or double tables. The seating is convertible into two single beds or one large double. Adjacent is a solid fuel stove and forward of this the Galley and cupboards which are all fully equipped with utensils and crockery. There is a fridge and separate freezer, an eye level gas oven and grill above the freezer, and a microwave oven above that, which is run from the 2kW inverter that can also provide 240 volt mains to sockets throughout the boat.
A side corridor runs forward to the bathroom with corner bath and shower, wash basin and pump-out toilet. There are clip-back doors on either side of the bathroom.
Next forward is the double bedroom with clothes storage cupboards.
Another clip-back door provides access to the forward Saloon, with a wardrobe, and a door to the right for a second toilet with wash-basin. In the saloon there is a cupboard with TV and radio. The seating is convertible to two single beds or one large double. There are two Desmo sockets to allow the single or double table to be used here. Pillows, quilts, paperback books, Board games, packs of cards, pots, pans and utensils. DVD's, Canal Guides and maps, toolkits, anchor, mooring pins, ropes, and all other sundry equipment is supplied.
Double doors which fold back again to provide a wide forward access to the front cockpit which has a cratch with cover for weatherproof protection, and a mount for a single table.
Lighting is by 12 volt LED wall and ceiling lights supplied from a bank of 4 leisure batteries which also supply the Inverter. There is a separate Starter battery. Water is stored in a large tank in the bow of the boat. The Diesel fuel tank is in the stern. There are two separate pump out toilet tanks. Heating is by radiators & calorifier supplied by heat from the engine running, or a Webasto diesel-fired heater when stationary. The solid fuel stove can be used to heat the galley & saloon.
A hydraulic bow thruster is fitted internally across the front to aid manoeuvring the boat. This runs off of a pump driven by the engine, and so this does not affect the batteries.
