The Teal was built by Heron Boats in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. Initially Heron Boats intended to be an operator of shared ownership craft, managing them for the owners, but quickly realised that this was not for them, and concentrated on boat building rather than boat management. The Teal is therefore managed by her owners.
