The boat is 25 years old and in good condition hull wise no signs of
Osmosis etc - There are new electric speed, depth, log, wind direction and
wind speed and GPS fitted last year and we also have computer and
computerized charts which connect to the GPS.
The boat is owned by myself and one other who is moving away from Scotland
and wants to sell the boat. I would prefer another part owner who can help
with the maintenance in the winter and invest with myself towards racing
sails and rigging etc. The boat is on a mooring all summer at Royal Gourock
Yacht Club - There is a maintenance fee of about £300.00 a year for this.
RGYC has a launch service that takes you out to your boat 17.00 till 21.30
weeknights and 10.00 - 21.30 Sat/Sun so it's easy to get on/off the boat.
In the winter she is removed from the water and stored on a trailer at the
cheapest spot that has power and water for maintenance.
We do not have any arrangements for usage - I race the boat and the other
owner crews and uses it to day cruise around the River Clyde. I do not mind
having a more formal arrangement.
There is no one managing the running of the yacht maintenance costs and time
is shared between the owners. Costs of lifting the boat out/in is £300.00
per year and winter storage costs about £300.00 per year - Anti-fouling
paint and varnish about £150.00 per year all of which the other owner would
pay half.
The boat is in the Clyde Estuary so it would demand knowledge of seamanship
and navigation - RYA competent crew or RYA yacht master theory course. These
can be crashed in two weeks - If they want I can also teach how to sail and
race yacht and the rules of the road. The hardest part to learn is
manoeuvring in/out of marina's and small channels and understanding tides
and currents.
