Double steel doors lead to an open plan carpeted saloon, with a Puffin stove to starboard and a cupboard and colour TV, video and CD/radio to port. There are 2 armchairs (that convert to beds), 2 storage footstools, and a gateleg table that stores 4 folding chairs.

The through galley has vinyl flooring, with a sink and drainer to starboard, and a Lec 12 Volt fridge and Stoves hob and oven to port, with a good run of countertop and open shelves on one side. There are 2 more folding chairs that store upright under the counter next to the open shelves.

Running costs 2008
Each shareholder pays a monthly contribution into a maintenance fund, at present the contribution is £45 per month but this may be varied up or down at the AGM which usually takes place in October/November.

The description of the boat and its contents are quite comprehensive. The shareholders of MAXIMUS are all canal enthusiasts and having a vested interest in MAXIMUS is in no small way responsible for its superb condition. We have very useful members who know about engines, we have those who understand the heating system and the vagaries of canal boat mechanics. This band of shareholders are not afraid to get their hands dirty and are keen to do jobs themselves to keep down the annual costs ( having looked at the cost of other shares I estimate that the contributions made by the owners of Maximus are at least 50% less than the majority)

Don't concern yourself if you are, like me, a technological philistine there is always someone on the end of a telephone who will either talk you through it or jump in the car and come and help.

Each share holder has two fixed weeks and two floating weeks, (pardon the pun) The share for sale is share 9 whose fixed weeks are  the last week in July and the first week in August. The other two weeks are bid for by the owners who submit their requests to one of the shareholders acting as winter holiday allocations secretary who allocates the two free weeks. Mutual swaps are not a problem. The yearly calendar runs from October to October. There are usually four maintenance weeks included in the calendar but none affect the fixed weeks.

I could go on but I suggest if you are interested give me a ring and I will arrange to show you round.
