Why I should not buy a digital TV - and in the case of this TV set it is the best of all as it has BOTH tuners built in!!

In a nutshell a full multi region TV set with both analogue and Freeview (Digital) receivers

It is not often I get a set out of the box to play with (as a new model) and say to myself that I am looking at something that excites me, as normally my view is "been there, done that" - but this really is the exception!

This 10" TV set from Roadstar has all the attributes of a little gem! First and foremost it is a 10" colour TV with a conventional CRT and a belting good picture. Though, having a CRT does make it a little deep from front to back, if you don't mind that then I urge you to read on!

The 10" has, as standard, teletext, full remote control and, of course 12 volt operation, but as a little extra at this point this set will also run from 24 volts.

On the analogue tuner there are also options to tune to SECAM BG/DK + I, SECAM L and it has NTSC Playback. This attribute is on the CTV1042D (where the D is the critical bit) only and if you MUST have multi region you are asked to contact us ahead of making a purchase as we would wish to check where you plan to use it.

But it does not stop there, as well as having an analogue tuner this set also has a digital tuner, giving access to all the channels presently available on Freeview which also means not only more channels but also a whole host of radio programmes as well. Tuning it in is very simple, just access the menu, press "go" and it does itself! (well more or less!).

Now comes the clever bit. The TV set claims to have an "Antenna Booster" for receiving digital signals. Why? Well unlike with a normal analogue tuner if your reception is poor you can still watch through the "snow" with a digital signal you either get a perfect picture or - well nothing, more or less. So having tuned in the digital signals I decided to test this feature and plugged in the supplied "loop" aerial placing the set in a position where, on an indoor aerial, the signal is mediocre at best. IT WORKED! I was amazed. I was watching digital TV with a perfect picture and sound on an indoor aerial where I never thought I would. Well done Roadstar.
