Ellen is a comfortable stylish 58’semi trad launched in 2006. Originally commissioned by the Boatshare Company but privately managed by the owners since 2007.

A management committee of Chair and or Boat manager, secretary, and treasurer are elected at the AGM, when the owners meet to discuss plans for repairs and renewals for the year ahead and set the annual maintenance contribution.

Ellen has been recently refitted in Light Oak with a contemporary finish and a tongue and groove effect off white eggshell painted ceiling incorporating chrome down lighters. (All fittings are chrome or brushed steel internally)

The bedroom is at the stern and includes an extending double bed with a high quality orthopaedic memory foam topped mattress with double drawers underneath.

Additional storage is provided by over bed cupboard and a single wardrobe. The floor is oak laminate with storage steps to the stern. The wet cupboard and electrics/non domestic storage cupboards are either side of the steps. Ellen has an 1800w inverter with 240v sockets to all areas and a shoreline.

The bedroom leads to a walk through bathroom with a tiled floor, the toilet is a 12v macerating toilet with fresh water flush and remote pump-out tank The WC has a separate door which can be used without closing off the corridor. The shower is concealed by a bi fold door giving the appearance of a corridor when not in use, Both doors can be opened to make a large bathroom incorporating a thermostatically controlled fully tiled shower with bi-fold glass doors, vanity unit with designer vessel basin and pillar tap
The tiled flooring continues in the galley, which has a full range of base units both sides providing ample storage. There is a Vanette gas eye level grill and oven with electric 12v fridge under, the matching gas hob is set into the wood edged laminated worktops at an angle giving a pleasant L-shape to the end of the galley.

The galley is very well equipped with Microwave, toaster, steamer, crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment for a crew of six.
The very full domestic inventory also includes a Henry Vac.

The side doors have fully glazed inner windows.

An additional make up double berth is provided by the raised dinette, which also provides storage for bedding with drawers and cupboards on the saloon side.

Duvets and pillows are provided and replaced regularly.

The saloon has two comfy armchairs, which convert, into single berths, an LCD TV with DVD and freesat satellite receiver. A large collections of DVD’s are stored in a unit under the wall mounted TV. There is also a single wardrobe in this area.

A Mikuni boiler supplies the central heating with a solid fuel stove providing additional heating in the colder months.
The saloon is fully carpeted; storage steps lead to the bow deck where the gas locker is located.

Ellen is fully equipped for canal cruising. The engine is serviced every 200 hours (roughly every five-six weeks) during the season to an agreed service schedule by the Swanley engineer, we are also Gold members of RCR.

A full repaint is booked for January 2011 to be funded from the existing boat fund.

The annual maintenance fees at the time of writing (2010) are £270 per week owned which includes a contribution to the boat fund for repaints, winter repairs and large capital expenditure

We welcome new owners who are over 25 years and have relevant cruising experience or are prepared to attend a helmsman’s course at their own expense.
